Copywriter

Your role/title at Apart of Me:

I’m on the marketing team as a blogger/copywriter.

How are you involved with Apart of Me?

I stumbled across Apart of Me completely by accident when I was working on a blog post for my own blog that referenced grief resources. Out of curiosity, I downloaded the game for myself, and was so moved by it that I immediately contacted Louis, Ben, and Caroline to ask if there was any potential for me to become a part of the team as a writer.

My own grief journey began when I unexpectedly lost my dad in 2017. After I found at least some of my footing in a world that had now been turned completely upside down, I decided that I wanted to begin my website and blog, Grief Personalized, in 2018. My goal with Grief Personalized is to not only recover from my own pain, but to also inspire, share, and connect with others around the world who are struggling with grief, too.

Just as I have come to learn (and am still learning), I want to help everyone that I can (both through Grief Personalized and my work here at Apart of Me) to also learn one very important message: you are loved, you are important, and you are not alone.

Is there someone or something that you love that isn’t here anymore?

I’ve lost all of my great grandparents, both grandfathers, and several of my pets over the years. But my greatest loss (so far) has been my dad.

What is guaranteed to make you laugh?

Funny memories of my loved ones (especially my dad, who was absolutely hilarious), my best friend, my favorite television shows/movies, and cat videos.

List some silly facts about you:

I’m an ardent film geek. I love every aspect of it; directing, photography, script, costumes, editing, acting… all of it. So be careful if you ask me about movies. I’ll talk your ear off. Seriously.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

To be the things that I loved most about the people who are gone.
