Why do we need you?

Apart of Me is a multi-award-winning therapeutic service designed to guide young people through loss and trauma. Many families are unable to access traditional counselling support or find it difficult to address the complicated emotions that come with loss. Our aim is to support them in navigating what they are going through and offer hope for the future.

We are a nonprofit organisation aiming to help bereaved children, young people, and parents around the world. We rely entirely on the incredible generosity of volunteers and donors to enable us to keep helping those in need.

What is it like to volunteer for Apart of Me?

Amazing, obviously! To be a little more specific, volunteering with us will give you the chance to play an active role in an innovative and ambitious tech charity. You will be joining a rapidly expanding team of international volunteers, who all bring something different and valuable to Apart of Me.

It is a great opportunity to gain experience in the charity sector and develop your skills by working with and learning from your fellow volunteers. We encourage a flexible, independent way of working, and all of our roles are completely remote. This means you will be able to make a real impact from wherever you are in the world.

Perhaps most importantly, you will be making a difference in the lives of children and young people who have experienced loss. There’s no feeling quite like the one you get from knowing you are helping people who really need your help.

What do we look for in a volunteer?

The main requirements for volunteering with Apart of Me are a time commitment of around three hours a week minimum and a positive, can-do attitude. As we rely so heavily on volunteers, we need dedicated people who are really invested in the cause.

We are a large group working remotely so it is important that you are a team player who is able to keep up with various communications and projects. Previous experience of working for a charity, along with a personal affinity to child bereavement and mental health, are a bonus but not essential.

How else can I contribute?

We totally understand that not everyone is able to commit to become one of our volunteers. Don't worry - there are still many other ways you can get involved!
